Accidental Shooting Results in Serious Injury to Relative
A man in Sakarya’s Sapanca district accidentally shot and seriously injured his relative while tampering with a gun. The incident occurred at around 22:00 in the Gazipaşa District, where the man, identified as BT (26), was sitting with his relative AT (37) and some friends.
As BT was messing with the gun, it suddenly went off and the bullet hit AT in the chest. Medical teams were immediately called to the scene and provided initial treatment before transporting AT to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital. AT’s condition was reported to be life-threatening, and he remains under treatment.
Following the shooting, BT was taken into custody and the gun used in the crime was confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation. The authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
