Bishkek – 24.kg news agency – By Aida DZHUMASHOVA

Ondurush Toktonasyrov, an activist, has been summoned once again for interrogation by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to lawyer Agzam Dushenaliev. This comes after a previous summons as a witness.

Dushenaliev stated that Toktonasyrov will be presented with the examination conclusion and will undergo questioning.

The activist was previously taken away by unidentified individuals on May 30. His whereabouts were unknown to his relatives and human rights activists for over an hour. It was later revealed that he was detained by police officers for questioning in relation to a criminal case.

The reasons for Toktonasyrov’s repeated summoning for interrogation are still unknown. This development raises concerns among human rights activists and advocates for freedom of expression and assembly.

The case of Ondurush Toktonasyrov highlights the challenges faced by activists in Kyrgyzstan, where there have been instances of harassment and intimidation against those advocating for social and political change. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether justice will prevail.
