Actress Serenay Sarıkaya called to testify in last-minute news
An investigation has been launched in Istanbul against manager Ayşe Barım for alleged tax evasion in the TV series and film industry. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is looking into claims that Barım received $5 million from a businessman for an advertising agreement, leading to monopolization in the sector. There are also allegations that Barım removed players who opposed her from the market.
As part of the investigation for crimes such as ‘violation of freedom of work’ and ‘blackmail’, a travel ban has been imposed on Ayşe Barım and her account movements are being scrutinized. Actress Serenay Sarıkaya, the central figure in the allegations, is expected to testify at the Istanbul Palace of Justice tomorrow.
Additionally, singer Mert Demir and other individuals in the industry are also expected to be called to testify in the coming days. The competition authority has taken action against 21 companies, especially the one where Ayşe Barım is a founding partner, in response to allegations of monopolization in social media platforms within the acting industry.
