Hungary is known for its amazing thermal baths and outdoor pools, drawing in more and more visitors as the warmer weather approaches. However, with inflation affecting ticket prices, it’s important to do some research to find the best deals and make your recreation activities more budget-friendly.
According to HelloVidék, while classic open-air beaches typically open in the summer, most spas and thermal baths have outdoor pools that are available year-round. The opening dates may vary for each resort, with some outdoor baths welcoming guests as early as the first weeks of June.
Ticket prices for outdoor pools are on the rise, with prices expected to increase by up to 5 to 13 percent this summer in Hungary. In Budapest and the countryside, it’s becoming harder to find a thermal spa where the daily entrance fee is below HUF 10,000 (EUR 25.5). However, there are still some options for those looking for more affordable experiences.
For example, in Sárvár, adult tickets for outdoor pools cost HUF 7,600 (EUR 19.3), while in Zalakaros and Hajdúszoboszló, prices are HUF 6,300 (EUR 16) and HUF 5900 (EUR 15) respectively. Additionally, there are outdoor pools not operated by thermal baths, like the Jászapáti Tölgyes Lido and Jászárokszállás Thermal Bath, with lower prices for visitors to enjoy.
If you’re on a budget but still want to enjoy a thermal bath experience, Virágfürdő in Kaposvár offers a daily ticket for HUF 4,850 (EUR 12.3) for adults and HUF 3,700 (EUR 9.4) for children. Many baths in the countryside will gradually open throughout May and June, with popular options like Annagora Aquapark in Balatonfüred and Bükfürdő Thermal & Spa in Bükfürdő opening in the second half of June.
