Ahmet Akyol takes charge as President of TOBB Defense Industry Council
ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol Elected President of TOBB Defense Industry Council
At the recent Turkish Defense Industry Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Ahmet Akyol, the General Manager of ASELSAN, was elected as the President of the TOBB Defense Industry Council. This position was previously held by Haluk Görgün.
The assembly, which took place at the TOBB Twin Towers, was chaired by Ender Yorgancılar, the TOBB Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Board Members Mehmet Büyüksimitci and Seyit Ardıç, along with TOBB Secretary General Mustafa Saraçöz and various sector representatives, were also in attendance.
During the meeting, a comprehensive evaluation of the sector was conducted and future projections were discussed. A highlight of the meeting was a presentation on “Brand Communication in the Defense Industry” by Nur Özkan Erbay, the Coordinator of the Presidential Communications Office Turkey Brand Office.
The TOBB Defense Industry Council, which operates under the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), plays a crucial role in the development and strengthening of Turkey’s defense industry sector. The council has several key functions, including promoting collaboration and communication among businesses, universities, research centers, and public institutions in the defense industry sector. It also focuses on policy and strategy development, innovation and R&D activities, and monitoring regulations and standards in the industry.
