Air Astana Restarts Direct Flights Between Astana and Seoul

Air Astana resumes direct flights between Astana and Seoul

Kazakhstan’s national carrier, Air Astana, has announced the resumption of direct flights between Astana and Seoul starting from June 15. The flights will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Airbus A321LR aircraft. This new route will complement the existing daily flights from Almaty to Seoul, which have been in operation since 2003.

The decision to resume the Astana-Seoul route comes after it was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The timing of the route’s reopening coincides with the official visit of the South Korean President to Kazakhstan last week, highlighting the strategic importance of strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

In addition to this, Qazaq Air has introduced age-based rates for international flights, benefiting women and men over 60 years of age and youth aged 16 to 22 years. These special rates will also be available on the airline’s domestic routes. According to Akbota Orynbayeva, spokesperson for Qazaq Air, the age-based fare offers a lower price and flexible rules, making it ideal for students and other passengers who like to plan their trips in advance.

Overall, these developments in the aviation sector aim to facilitate travel between Kazakhstan and South Korea, fostering greater connectivity and cooperation between the two nations.
