Uzbekistani Truck Drivers to be Recruited for EU Employment

Representatives from Kreiss, the largest transport and logistics company in the Baltic region, recently visited Uzbekistan from June 10-17. Founded in 2001 in Riga, Kreiss is a major cargo carrier in the Baltic region and a key player in providing logistics services in Europe and CIS countries, with an annual turnover of $160 million.
During their visit, the Latvian delegation held discussions with key officials from the Ministry of Transport, the External Labor Migration Agency, and the International Association of Road Carriers in Uzbekistan.
One of the significant outcomes of the visit was the signing of an agreement between Kreiss and the External Labor Migration Agency for the organized recruitment of 600 drivers to Latvia. This collaboration is expected to benefit both parties and contribute to the transportation sector in the Baltic region.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Vatanparvar organization to establish special simulators for training Uzbek truck drivers at driving schools affiliated with the association. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of Uzbek drivers according to European standards, enabling them to work in EU countries.
The visit of Kreiss representatives to Uzbekistan underscores the growing cooperation between the two countries in the transport and logistics sector. Such partnerships are essential for promoting cross-border trade and facilitating the movement of goods and services between regions.
