AK Party Calls for Civil Constitution in Central Executive Board Meeting’s Conclusion

The recent AK Party Central Executive Board meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has brought forth important statements made by AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik.

Regarding the anniversary of the September 12 coup, Çelik emphasized that all coups are orchestrated under the guise of ensuring peace, but in reality, they are aimed at furthering a certain political agenda. He highlighted the need for Turkey to break free from the constraints of the coup constitution and transition towards a civilian constitution to uphold democratic values.

In the wake of the tragic killing of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi by Israeli forces, Çelik called for justice to be served for her murder and condemned attempts to label her as a militant, emphasizing her advocacy for peace.

Addressing recent statements by Greek Minister Dendias, Çelik reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to protecting its rights and interests through diplomatic negotiations, while remaining vigilant against actions that may destabilize the region.

Regarding comments made by a certain individual at a recent funeral, Çelik expressed regret over the politicization of the event and urged for a focus on paying respects to the deceased without reducing their sacrifice to mere ideology.

Lastly, comments made about the potential for early elections were also addressed, with Çelik noting the importance of fulfilling promises made to voters and providing continued services to the citizens. The discussion around early elections also touched upon speculation about the future leadership of the CHP in such a scenario.

The AK Party remains dedicated to upholding democratic values and serving the interests of the Turkish people, as reiterated in the recent statements made by Ömer Çelik.
