AK Party MKYK Meeting: President Erdogan Emphasizes Turkey’s Role in the Region
The AK Party MKYK meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressed the instabilities surrounding Turkey, as reported by CNN TÜRK. President Erdoğan highlighted Turkey’s role as an ‘island of stability’ and a beacon of hope for the oppressed worldwide.
Erdoğan praised Turkey’s efforts in providing security and shelter to 8 million oppressed individuals within its borders and neighboring Syria for the past 13 years since the conflict began in the region. He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people in rebuilding their country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan also addressed the meeting, emphasizing Turkey’s stance in Syria as a pursuit of righteousness rather than victory. Fidan highlighted Turkey’s commitment to the territorial integrity of Syria and expressed concerns about Israel’s attempts to annex the region during the ongoing conflict.
President Erdoğan issued a warning to the AK Party, urging members to avoid complacency and strive for a vote target of at least 50 percent in elections. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the party’s strength and unity going forward.
Minister of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar presented plans for the energy sector, announcing a 1 trillion TL subsidy for natural gas and electricity by 2024. He detailed measures to limit subsidies for high energy consumers and outlined potential savings if energy production reaches full capacity in projects like Akkuyu.
The AK Party MKYK meeting underscored Turkey’s ongoing commitment to stability in the region and the government’s determination to address key issues affecting the country and its neighbors.
