AK Party’s Focus on Service: Binali Yıldırım’s Statement
AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım has addressed party members at the AK Party District Presidency in Esenyurt, reflecting on Turkey’s journey to the present day. Yıldırım highlighted the difficulty of connecting with younger generations who did not experience life before the 2000s, saying, “they think that everything was the same in the past. There is no such thing.” He went on to explain the progress made in Turkey over the past two decades, including growing the country and national values three times over. Yıldırım also emphasized the impact of terrorism on the country and the success in removing it from the agenda over the past 15 years.
Yıldırım further pointed out the tragic disaster of February 6, which affected 11 provinces in an area the size of Bulgaria and resulted in the burial of 50,000 citizens and monetary losses of 104 billion dollars. However, he also highlighted the progress made since then, with the foundation of 170,000 houses already laid.
Throughout his speech, Yıldırım emphasized the AK Party’s dedication to serving the nation, prioritizing the nation’s problems and service over politics. “We have never, ever used politics in service,” he said. “You have given us less votes, you have given us a lot of votes. We do not have a belief or understanding in our politics.”
