Uzbek Weightlifter Akbar Juraev Wins Silver at Paris Olympics
Akbar Juraev, representing Uzbekistan, has made his mark at the Paris Olympics by winning a silver medal in weightlifting. Competing in the 105 kg weight category, Juraev lifted a total of 404 kg to secure second place.
During the competition, Juraev lifted 185 kg in the snatch and 219 kg in the clean and jerk, showcasing his strength and skill in both exercises. His impressive performance earned him the silver medal, marking a significant achievement for the Uzbek sports delegation at the Paris Olympic Games.
Despite his best efforts, Juraev was narrowly edged out by Chinese weightlifter Liu Huanhua, who took home the gold with a total lift of 406 kg. Nevertheless, Juraev’s silver medal win has brought pride and recognition to Uzbekistan on the Olympic stage.
