Akmal Shukurov Extradited from Kazakhstan to Tashkent

Akmal Shukurov, the main suspect in a case of severe bodily harm outside a nightclub in Tashkent, has been extradited from Kazakhstan to face charges of hooliganism and intentional infliction of serious injury.

The incident occurred outside the “12” nightclub in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district on the night of March 15-16, where a confrontation between Shukurov and his acquaintance escalated into a physical altercation. Boris Avakyan, who attempted to intervene, was struck twice on the head by Shukurov, resulting in him losing consciousness and being hospitalized with a skull injury and laceration to the cheek.

After evading investigation, Shukurov was apprehended in Kazakhstan on March 17 and has now been extradited back to Tashkent to face the charges. The Tashkent Main Internal Affairs Department (MIAD) stated that the investigation is being conducted thoroughly and impartially to ensure the rule of law and justice for the crime committed.

Charges under Article 277 (hooliganism) and Article 104 (intentional infliction of serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code have been filed against Shukurov. The authorities are continuing with their investigative actions in this case to ensure accountability and punishment for the crime committed.
