AKPA Delegation Completes Work in Strasbourg – BRTK

The delegation of the Assembly of the Republic has successfully completed their work in Strasbourg after attending the General Assembly meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (AKPA). Led by UBP Deputy Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and CTP Deputy Armağan Candan, the delegation held important discussions with representatives from various member states.

During the meetings, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus raised concerns about the Immovable Property Commission and real estate sales in the TRNC. In response, the TRNC Parliament delegation provided detailed information about the activities of the TMK, emphasizing its effectiveness as a domestic legal remedy. Officials from the Council of Europe Directorate General for Human Rights and the Rule of Law also confirmed the importance of continuing the TMK’s activities.

Over the course of three days, delegation members Hasipoğlu and Candan participated in various committee meetings and attended the General Assembly sessions. Hasipoğlu engaged with the European Conservatives and Democratic Alliance (EC/DA) group, while Candan participated in meetings with the Socialists, Democrats, and Greens (SOC) group.

Accompanying the delegation were TRNC Strasbourg Representative Selda Çimen, Republic Assembly Press, Foreign Relations and Protocol Director Milhan Lakadamyalı, as well as First Secretary Havva Ülgen Yeşilada and Second Secretary Hasan Varoğlu from the Strasbourg representation.
