Bishkek, 09:41, 03 May 2025 — 24.kg news agency, by Baktygul Osmonalievie

Heavy rainfall and hail have resulted in significant flooding in the Ak-Suu and Sary-Chelek rural areas of Kyrgyzstan’s Aksy district. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported extensive damage, affecting numerous residential homes and infrastructure.

The flooding has inundated the yards of ten homes, while the Sary-Chelek — Kerben road in the Baatyrbek area of Kyzyl-Tuu village has been obstructed by sand and gravel washed away by the torrential rain. This obstruction has led to disruptions in traffic, complicating access for emergency and recovery teams.

In response to the crisis, rescue teams, local road maintenance workers, and representatives from the village administration have been deployed to the affected areas. Restoration efforts are currently underway to alleviate the situation.

Additionally, a landslide in the Toye-Basty village has washed away approximately 1,500 meters of internal farm road, damaging sections and flooding three social facilities. Emergency Ministry units are actively working to restore these vital services.

As recovery efforts continue, authorities remain vigilant, urging residents to stay alert and adhere to safety guidelines during this challenging time. The community’s resilience will be key in overcoming the impact of this severe weather event.
