Albanian Prime Minister Shares Bayraktar TB2 Technology

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has made an exciting announcement on his official Facebook account. He revealed that Albania will soon be the 27th country to acquire the Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs from Baykar. This decision places Albania alongside Poland and Romania as one of the NATO countries to utilize the Bayraktar TB2 S/UAV systems.

In his post, Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of integrating these advanced unmanned aerial vehicles into Albania’s Armed Forces. He stated that this move is crucial for both national security and the security of the Alliance. He also highlighted that Albania remains dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology for safeguarding its borders.

The export contract between Baykar Defense and Albania, signed at the end of 2022, includes the delivery of 3 TB2 UCAVs and the training of 30 personnel. Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, highlighting the strong historical, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

Baykar, known for its expertise in developing Turkey’s national UCAV systems, has achieved historical success with the Bayraktar TB2 SİHA. This unmanned aerial vehicle, which became operational in 2014, has played a crucial role in various security operations within Turkey. Baykar’s commitment to indigenous development is evident in the fact that the Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs are produced at the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center in Istanbul, with an unprecedented 93% domestic industry participation.

It is worth noting that Baykar has secured export agreements with a total of 33 countries for its UAVs, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history. The strategic decision by Albania to acquire Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs underscores the growing global interest in the advanced technology developed by Baykar.

As Albania prepares to receive these cutting-edge unmanned aerial vehicles, both Baykar and the Albanian government are looking forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration that will strengthen Albania’s defense capabilities and contribute to regional security.
