Almaty Hosts Conference Celebrating Magtymguly Pyragy’s 300th Anniversary
An international conference celebrating the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, titled “Magtymguly Pyragy – the genius of the word of Oriental literature,” was recently held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan.
The conference brought together leaders from the National Academy of Sciences, Ambassadors, Consuls General, Kazakhstani scientists, writers, philologists, and philosophers who are interested in the works of Magtymguly Pyragy. The speakers emphasized the importance of introducing Magtymguly’s unique literary contributions to the global community, highlighting his significant role in world literature.
During the conference, an exhibition featuring decorative, applied, fine, and photographic art was launched to showcase artistic expressions inspired by Magtymguly’s legacy. Additionally, books by the National Leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan were displayed, including collections of poems by Magtymguly.
The event served as a platform to honor the influential poet-thinker and to promote a deeper understanding of his invaluable literary heritage. Through initiatives like this conference, Magtymguly’s work continues to inspire and resonate with audiences worldwide.
