Altınok offers 5 thousand lira bonus to retirees on April 15 – Latest News from Turkey

People’s Alliance’s candidate for Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor, Turgut Altınok, recently met with the residents of Beşikkaya District in Altındağ. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı.
Before the program, Altınok answered questions from the press. When asked about the recovery for retirees, Altınok stated, “Our President has repeatedly outlined the plans for our retirees based on the budget. On April 15, we will provide 5 thousand liras to our retirees. Water bills will be reduced by 50 percent, benefiting retirees. We will also increase the amount on the Ankarakart from 400 liras to 2500 liras. Additionally, natural gas support will be raised from 500 liras to 1000 liras. Overall, retirees will receive a monthly support of 8 thousand liras. Starting March 31, transportation will be free for retirees, individuals under 18, and university students in Ankara.”
When questioned about owning 600 houses in Antalya, Altınok responded, “They should inquire about how Mr. Metropolitan Mayor Yavaş acquired a flat in London. My assets were inherited from my father and were acquired before becoming mayor. I did not receive any properties after assuming office. Those who have become wealthy after holding public office should be asked about their acquisitions.”
Altınok’s promises regarding support for retirees and transparency in wealth management have sparked interest among the public. It remains to be seen how these commitments will be fulfilled and the impact they will have on the upcoming election.
