Türkiye Defeats Poland 3-2 in Amputee Football Championship
In a thrilling match, Türkiye emerged victorious with a 3-2 win against Poland in the final match of the championship. The national team displayed their strength and determination, taking an early lead with a stylish header goal by Fatih Şentürk in the 2nd minute.
Despite facing pressure from the opposition, Türkiye extended their advantage to 2-0 with a goal from Savaş Kaya in the 4th minute. However, Poland managed to level the game with goals in the 10th and 25th+5 minutes, bringing the score to a 2-2 draw at halftime.
The decisive moment came in the 48th minute when Muhammet Yegen stepped up and struck the ball beautifully into the corner to score the winning goal against Poland. The match ended with Türkiye celebrating a hard-fought victory.
Turkish Ambassador to Warsaw, Cengiz Kamil Fırat, was present to witness the match between the Amputee A National Team and Poland. Fırat watched the game alongside Turkish citizens in Krakow and was presented with a signed jersey by coach İsmail Temiz and captain Rahmi Özcan.
Coach İsmail Temiz expressed his congratulations to the technical team and athletes for their outstanding performance. He said, “We have completed a long league marathon. Through our participation in the Nations League, which was organized for the first time, we have secured our spot in the Amputee Football European Championship. I congratulate my players for their achievements. We have both experienced and new athletes who are giving their best. Now, it is time to prepare for the 2024 European Championship. We aim to make the best use of this opportunity and bring the trophy home for the third time in a row, proudly representing our country.”
The victory against Poland marks a significant milestone for Türkiye’s amputee football team, showcasing their skill and determination on the international stage. With their eyes set on future championships, the team is determined to continue their success and make their nation proud.
