Andijan School Principal Fined for Enslaving Teachers
Teachers at School No. 37 in Asaka District Forced to Clean Up Construction Debris
Recently, shocking news circulated on social media regarding the treatment of teachers at School No. 37 in Asaka district. It was reported that approximately 30 teachers were coerced into cleaning up piles of construction debris on the school grounds.
The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction’s press service confirmed that the teachers were compelled to perform this task out of fear of losing their jobs. This action clearly violated the requirements outlined in Article 25 of the Labor Code and Cabinet Resolution No. 349.
As a result of an investigation, the principal of School No. 37 in Asaka district was held accountable for this abuse of power. In accordance with Part 2 of Article 51 of the Administrative Force to Work, the principal was fined 100 BCAs, equivalent to 34 million UZS.
This incident sheds light on the importance of protecting the rights and dignity of all workers, including teachers, and ensuring that such violations are swiftly addressed and punished accordingly.
