Andijan’s Major Criminal Group On Trial For Car Renting and Dismantling

A criminal group accused of renting cars and then dismantling them for parts
A 14-member criminal group is currently on trial at the Jalakuduk district court, accused of a scheme involving fraudulent car rentals. The group allegedly rented cars from individuals under the guise of returning them, only to dismantle the vehicles and sell off their parts. This has left around 40 cars missing and unrecovered, much to the dismay of their rightful owners.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the group had fraudulently rented out a total of 60 cars, with only 15 being recovered so far. These recovered vehicles were found to be in poor condition, with many of their parts missing or replaced with faulty ones.
One victim, who shared their experience with Kun.uz, recounted how they had rented out a car to a man named Muhammadyunus, who then passed it on to another individual named Rustam. The car eventually ended up with a butcher named Djalolkhon in Namangan. However, during the trial, all parties involved claimed not to know each other.
The court proceedings have revealed that there are 14 defendants in this case, all facing charges under various sections of the Criminal Code related to fraud, property acquisition through criminal means, and vehicle registration plate tampering. A total of 57 victims have been identified in connection to this criminal operation.
As the trial continues, the victims anxiously await justice and the recovery of their missing vehicles. The illegal activities of this criminal group have not only caused financial losses but also emotional distress to those who fell victim to their deceitful tactics.
