Ankara Terrorist Attack: Kyrgyzstanis Unharmed
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Turkey reported that there are no citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic among the casualties in the recent terrorist attack near the building of the aerospace company TUSAŞ in Turkey on October 23rd. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has reached out to the authorities in Turkey for more information on the incident.
According to Turkish media, the attack started with an explosion at the entrance of the plant in the Kahramankazan district, believed to have been caused by a suicide bomber. Following the explosion, an armed group entered the plant, some arriving in a taxi, including a woman. The attackers proceeded to break into the plant, taking hostages before a second explosion occurred on the premises, leading to a shootout.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey confirmed that five individuals lost their lives in the attack, with twenty-two others sustaining injuries, three of whom are reportedly in critical condition. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that all the terrorists who entered the plant have been neutralized. The situation is being closely monitored as more details unfold about the tragic event.
