Ankara Police Department Announces Measures for Elections

The Ankara Police Department has announced new measures to ensure that the upcoming Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections are held in an environment of peace and security. According to the statement made by the department, traffic around the Supreme Election Board and district election boards will be limited in order to prevent any possible disruptions during the voting process.

Starting from today and continuing until the end of the election period on Tuesday, May 16, the section of Ihlamur Street between Atatürk Boulevard and İzmir 1 Street, the part of Elgün Street between Necatibey Street and İzmir 1 Street, around the YSK building, will be closed to traffic if needed. Similarly, the part of the street between Necatibey Street and Atatürk Boulevard and the entire Necatibey Street will be closed if required.

Moreover, in case of congestion on Sunday, May 14, the section of 9th Street between Bishkek Street and 15th Street, located around the Çankaya Temporary 1st District Election Board, 15th Street between 9th and 12th Streets, and the section of Bişkek Street located around the Çankaya Temporary 2nd District Election Board will be closed to traffic if needed.

Other streets that might be closed to traffic during the elections include the part of the 1730th Street located around the Yenimahalle Temporary District Election Board, the part of Necdet Evliyagil Street between the 1728th Street and the 1730th Street, the section of 309th Street of Şehit Onur Doğan Street located around the Altındağ Temporary District Election Board, and the section of Istikbal Street around the Pursaklar Temporary District Election Board.

In addition, the entire 6th Street around the Keçiören Temporary District Election Board and the entire Alkış Street around the Mamak Temporary District Election Board will also be closed to traffic if needed.
