Announcement: 2024 Fitra Price Revealed
The Supreme Council of Religious Affairs has announced that the amount of fitra for the month of Ramadan in 2024 has been set at 130 TL. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Haçkalı, taking into account hadiths on the subject, current socio-economic conditions, and a person’s daily food needs.
The specified amount of 130 TL can be given in cash or in kind, such as food and similar items, and is also the daily fasting ransom price. Additionally, each taxpayer has the option to give an amount equivalent to their daily food expenses as fitra.
This decision reflects the council’s consideration of both religious teachings and the practical implications of living conditions in the country. Ramadan, celebrated by Muslims worldwide, is a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection, and the determination of fitra plays an important role in the observance of this holy month.
