Appointment of New Head of EEC Business Development Department
On July 4, 2024, it was announced that the Director of the Department for Business Development of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has been replaced. Economist Yernar Bakenov has been appointed to the position, as reported on the EEC website.
Bakenov had previously served as the head of the Department for Business Development of the EEC from February 2023 to April 2024. Prior to that, he held the position of assistant member of the Board for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Born in 1974 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, Bakenov is a graduate of Karaganda State University with a degree in economics.
This change in leadership comes as the EEC continues its efforts to promote economic cooperation and development among its member countries. Bakenov’s experience and expertise in economics are expected to contribute to the Commission’s goals in fostering business growth and competition within the Eurasian region.
