Armenia potentially planning military provocation against Azerbaijan with French support, says Ramid Namazov

Armenia may resort to military provocation against Azerbaijan with France’s support, warns MP Ramid Namazov
During a public discussion on “Hybrid attack called ‘peace mission’ on stability in the South Caucasus,” MP Ramid Namazov, Chairman of the Temporary Commission against Foreign Interference and Hybrid Threats at Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), expressed concerns about Armenia’s potential military provocations against Azerbaijan with the support of France.
Namazov highlighted the process of Armenia’s preparation for international military operations under the guise of assistance from countries like France, as well as potential missions by the European Union. He stated that these developments indicate the creation of a new hotspot in the South Caucasus could unfold in two possible scenarios.
The first scenario involves Armenia, backed by France, instigating a military provocation against Azerbaijan, reigniting a conflict in the region. The second scenario suggests Armenia’s involvement in operations conducted by Western powers against neighboring states like Iran.
The MP emphasized that following the Patriotic War, foreign interest in Western Azerbaijan’s Syunik province has escalated. Despite being the least populated region, Syunik holds strategic importance due to its borders with Azerbaijan and Iran.
Namazov pointed out that Armenia’s act of capitulation includes plans for constructing new communication lines connecting Nakhchivan with Azerbaijan’s western regions. He highlighted France’s assertion that Syunik plays a central role in the South Caucasus due to its geographical proximity to Azerbaijan and Iran.
The warning provided by MP Ramid Namazov underscores the need for vigilance and diplomatic efforts to prevent any potential military provocations and maintain stability in the South Caucasus region.
