Arrest Made of Wanted Crime Group Member Kamchi Kolbaev in Cholpon-Ata
On June 1, 2024, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, law enforcement officers apprehended a 30-year-old member of an organized crime group in Cholpon-Ata who had been on the run for six months for a serious crime. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan confirmed his arrest.
According to reports from the press service, the suspect and his accomplices forcefully took a plot of land from a resident of Bosteri village and threatened him with physical violence. The victim later reported the incident to the police, resulting in the suspect being placed on the wanted list in December 2023.
Acting on a tip received on May 30, officers from the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs located the wanted man in a house in Cholpon-Ata and successfully detained him.
Furthermore, the police revealed that the apprehended man is a prominent member of Kamchi Kolbaev’s organized crime group and has since been taken into custody for further investigation.
This incident serves as a testament to the diligent work of law enforcement in Kyrgyzstan to combat organized crime and uphold justice in the country.
