Albatros-S Kamikaze Unmanned Marine Vehicle Sinks Real Ship Target

The Albatros-S Kamikaze Unmanned Marine Vehicle developed by ASELSAN has successfully hit and sunk a real ship target during a recent test conducted in Mersin on October 4, 2023.

The test demonstrated the capabilities of the Albatros İDA when it engaged the target ship, which measured 22 meters in length. With the support of Roketsan, the Albatros IDA was equipped with a powerful warhead that caused significant damage to the target vessel. Within minutes, the ship sank due to the extent of the damage caused by the Albatros-S.

During the test, an impressive joint operation was executed with the collaboration of the Bayraktar TB2 SİHA and Albatros. It marked the first time in the world that the kamikaze attack concept of the IDA swarm was demonstrated alongside the IDA-UAV joint operation.

The Naval Forces Command closely monitored the test at their headquarters, led by Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu. Also present were the Presidential Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, and other officials.

The test was completed successfully without encountering any issues under the coordination of the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industries.
