30 Horse Riders Parade through Astana in Anticipation of World Nomad Games

Astana witnessed a vibrant spectacle on the morning of July 28 as 30 horse riders paraded through the iconic locations of the Kazakh capital. Organized in anticipation of the fifth World Nomad Games, the performance was a delightful display of culture and tradition, as reported by the Astana city administration’s press service.

The riders assembled near the Barys Arena Ice Palace and proceeded along a route that included Bukhar Zhyrau, Turkistan, Orynbor, Akmeshit, Dostyk, and Kabanbai Batyr Avenue. Along the way, they galloped past small architectural forms that adorned the city in preparation for the upcoming games, concluding their journey near the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.

To accommodate the procession, traffic was temporarily halted, and the parade also featured the participation of Tazy breed dogs.

Sagadat Temkenov, the founder of the Tengri Road Equestrian Club of travelers and a participant in the performance, highlighted the parade’s objective of inspiring Kazakh nationals to engage in the World Nomad Games. By showcasing the nation’s rich culture, history, and traditions, the event aims to instill a sense of patriotism and support for athletes, while also promoting tourism in Kazakhstan.

Temkenov urged representatives of the Zhambyl Region to organize similar events in each region leading up to the games, emphasizing the importance of promoting the country’s ethno-cultural code to attract foreign tourists.

The colorful parade through Astana not only served as a celebration of Kazakhstan’s heritage but also as a call to unite in support of the upcoming World Nomad Games and promote the country’s unique identity on a global stage.
