Astana Prepares for Fifth World Nomad Games
Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, is bustling with excitement as it gears up for the Fifth World Nomad Games, set to take place from Sept. 8 to 13. The event, which will see over 2,000 participants from 89 countries, is expected to attract more than 100,000 tourists eager to witness sports competitions and cultural festivities.
In preparation for the Games, Astana has been adorned with various architectural forms that showcase the unique cultural richness of the event. These installations, including sculptures, decorative structures, and artistic pieces, are strategically placed throughout the city, celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of nomadic peoples. Traditional symbols such as yurts, horses, and historical and mythological imagery are prominently featured.
Key installations can be found at various landmarks in Astana, including Central Park, Lovers’ Park, Asia Park shopping center, and the Kazanat Hippodrome, where several competitions will be held. Additionally, architectural forms have been set up near Nurly Zhol Station, Theatre Square, and the area surrounding the Radisson Hotel. Visitors can also explore installations at iconic spots like the Astana-Baiterek monument, the Arc de Triomphe, the Botanical Garden, Water-Green Boulevard, and the international airport.
