Authorities foil attempted smuggling of eight Honda cars into Kyrgyzstan.
An attempt to smuggle cars into Kyrgyzstan was thwarted by authorities, as reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS).
According to the state committee, a Kyrgyz citizen and his accomplices attempted to use false documents for eight cars to cross the state border through the Karkyra-Avtodorozhny checkpoint with the intention of further legalizing and selling the cars in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The SCNS has opened a criminal case for the use of knowingly false documents in this incident. The Kyrgyz citizen has been placed in the temporary detention center of the Karakol Department of Internal Affairs, while efforts to identify other individuals involved in the crime are ongoing.
