
Azerbaijan and Kuwait Ink Joint Declaration After 3rd Cooperation Meeting

Strengthening Ties: Azerbaijan and Kuwait’s Cooperation Agreement
On April 30, 2025, Kuwait hosted the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Kuwait, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting was co-chaired by Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, his Kuwaiti counterpart, with representatives from both nations in attendance.
The primary goal of the gathering was to bolster cooperation across various sectors, founded on mutual respect and shared interests. This platform aims to encourage ongoing dialogue, focusing on common economic priorities and fostering long-term partnerships.
During the discussions, both sides highlighted their commitment to the sustained development of friendly relations, with an emphasis on cooperation in energy, trade, investment, infrastructure, high technology, transport, agriculture, food security, healthcare, education, tourism, media, and sports. They agreed on the necessity of taking actionable steps and coordinating efforts to enhance bilateral relations further.
One major outcome of the commission was the agreement to expand trade through various initiatives, including progress in economic ties and improving logistics services to streamline trade between the two countries. The commission also explored opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector, particularly focusing on oil, gas, and clean energy projects to diversify economic resources effectively.
The Kuwaiti representatives congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). This achievement was noted as a testament to Azerbaijan’s rising prominence on the international stage, showcasing its organizational capabilities.
Highlighting regional dynamics, Azerbaijan appreciated Kuwait’s leadership within the Gulf Cooperation Council and expressed intentions to collaborate on the joint work plan for 2024-2028. The meeting addressed various regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of supporting international peace and security, alongside resolving conflicts based on UN principles and international law. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the approved protocol for continued cooperation was signed, outlining a roadmap for joint efforts in various fields from 2025 to 2027. Additionally, agreements in agriculture and programs related to sports, culture, and tourism were formalized.
The parties concluded by agreeing to hold the 4th meeting of the Joint Commission in 2027 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, marking the next step in their evolving partnership.
