Azerbaijan and Morocco Explore Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Opportunities
Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Adil Aliyev, recently visited the Kingdom of Morocco where he held meetings with top officials to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation. Aliyev met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the President of Morocco’s House of Councillors, Enaam Mayara, during his visit.
During the meetings, Aliyev highlighted the common religious and cultural values shared by Azerbaijan and Morocco, and stressed the importance of further developing relations between the two nations. He also underscored the significant contributions made by Azerbaijan’s Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening Azerbaijan-Morocco ties.
Aliyev further emphasized that the wise policies of National Leader Heydar Aliyev are being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. He highlighted the recent victory of the Azerbaijani army in the 44-day Patriotic War, which resulted in the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. Aliyev also provided an overview of the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the recently liberated Azerbaijani lands.
Speaker Rachid Talbi El Alami commended the work done by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev for Azerbaijan and its people, describing it as an exemplary model for the world. Meanwhile, House of Councillors Speaker Enaam Mayara highlighted the special role of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, initiated by Azerbaijan, in promoting and developing inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The discussions also covered mutual cooperation within international parliamentary organizations. The parties explored opportunities for further collaboration in this regard.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani MPs Mahir Abbaszade, Jeyhun Mammadov, and Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Morocco, Nazim Samadov.
The visit served as a significant step in strengthening the ties between Azerbaijan and Morocco. Both countries aim to enhance cooperation in various fields, building on their shared values and mutual understanding.
