Azerbaijani Media Reports Baku’s Displeasure with French Olympic Broadcast
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy has confirmed that Ukrainian forces are facing heavy pressure in the eastern part of the country, with Russian attacks concentrated around the Pokrovsk area in the Donetsk region. In response to this, Zelenskiy stated that all necessary actions will be taken to strengthen the positions of the Ukrainian military in the region.
The General Staff reported that Russian forces launched more than 30 assaults in the Pokrovsk area, resulting in significant losses for the Russian Army. Zelenskiy expressed gratitude to the units that successfully attacked Russian bases and logistics in occupied Ukrainian territories, emphasizing the importance of defending Ukrainian land.
Reports also emerged of a missile strike on a Russian military airfield in occupied Crimea, causing explosions and fires. Ukrainian media and Russian Telegram channels reported on the attacks, with witnesses in the cities of Saky and Yevpatoria confirming the incidents.
Furthermore, Ukraine has been able to target Russian energy facilities with drone and missile strikes, with Ukrenerho reporting hits to facilities in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions. The Ukrainian Air Force also successfully shot down 20 out of 22 drones launched by Russia in various regions on July 26.
In light of these developments, neighboring countries have reacted strongly to Russia’s actions. Romania summoned the Russian charge d’affaires in Bucharest to protest the repeated attacks on Ukrainian civil infrastructure, emphasizing the irresponsible nature of Russia’s military strikes near their border.
As the conflict continues to escalate, the international community remains on high alert for further developments in the region.
