Waves of Peace: The President’s Cup 2025 Tournament in Sugovushan
The President’s Cup 2025 tournament kicked off in Sugovushan, bringing together over 20 participating countries in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and unity. Elman Nasirov, a member of the Milli Majlis, emphasized the significance of this event, stating, "From the territories liberated from occupation, we are sending messages of peace to the global community."
Historically, the tournament saw participation from only four countries, but its expansion reflects a growing international interest in the event. Nasirov noted the pride felt in the liberated lands, which had been under Armenian occupation for three decades. "Now, from here, we are sending messages of peace to the entire global community. This is a major sporting event that also has political significance," he remarked.
The tournament is not just about competition; it’s also about inspiring the next generation. Nasirov observed a substantial increase in youth interest in rowing, stating, "Young people have enthusiastically begun to engage in rowing. Such tournaments only strengthen interest in this sport."
