
Azerbaijani President meets with Bulgarian President in one-on-one discussion

President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, in a one-on-one meeting held in Sofia. The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries and their bilateral relations. President Radev expressed gratitude towards President Aliyev for attending the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Azerbaijan’s SOCAR and distribution system operators of Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia. He also expressed hope for the successful implementation of the “Solidarity Ring” String project. President Aliyev thanked Radev for the invitation to visit Bulgaria and both leaders discussed the cooperation issues between their countries.
The meeting highlighted the importance of signing the Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and upgraded transmission network system operators of Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia, that will ensure Europe’s energy security. They also exchanged their views on deepening cooperation in political, economic, transport, energy, and other fields. Azerbaijan’s contribution as a reliable partner in ensuring Europe’s energy security was also underlined during the conversation.
The meeting reinforced the already existing ties between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, and both Presidents demonstrated their willingness to work together towards developing their relationship further.
