Azerbaijan’s Increased Corn Imports in Early 2025
In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan saw a significant rise in corn imports, totaling 36,024 tons valued at approximately $10.965 million, according to the State Customs Committee.
This figure represents an increase of 5,701 tons or 18.8% in volume compared to the same period in 2024, while the value of these imports rose by $393,000 or 3.7%. Notably, expenditures on corn imports accounted for just 0.2% of the country’s total import costs during this period.
The surge in corn imports indicates a growing demand for this essential crop in Azerbaijan, reflecting broader trends in agricultural consumption and trade practices. As the country continues to adapt to changing market conditions, this trend may suggest further investments in both domestic agriculture and international trade relationships.
