Azerbaijan’s Cultural Heritage Showcased at Exhibition in France
Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage was recently on display at an exhibition in the city of Blois, France. The event, organized by the University of Tours, saw participation from 16 different countries, with the Azerbaijan stand attracting significant interest from visitors.
Guests, including the Deputy Mayor of Blois, had the opportunity to explore Azerbaijan’s national musical instruments, traditional clothing, and cuisine. They were also given detailed information about ancient Azerbaijani monuments, providing a glimpse into the country’s history and cultural traditions.
One of the highlights of the event was an interactive workshop showcasing the art of decorating shekerbura, a popular sweet pastry in Azerbaijan. The workshop, led by Narmina Mammadova, an Azerbaijani resident of Blois, allowed participants to learn more about this traditional craft.
Attendees also had the chance to taste Azerbaijani kata, a sweet soft bread, and enjoy musical performances. The composition “Düşüncə” by renowned Azerbaijani jazz musician and composer Vagif Mustafazada, as well as the Azerbaijani folk song “Lachin,” were among the pieces performed at the exhibition, adding a touch of Azerbaijani culture to the event.
Overall, the exhibition provided a platform for sharing Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage with a global audience and fostering cultural exchange and appreciation among participants from different countries. This event serves as a reminder of the rich history and traditions that Azerbaijan has to offer to the world.
