Azerbaijan’s State Order: Over $15M Spent on Food in Q1 2025

Azerbaijan’s State Order Food Procurement Reaches 26.655 Million Manats in Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan made significant strides in its food procurement efforts, spending 26.655 million manats (approximately $15.679 million) through state orders, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The ministry highlighted that during this period, there was a noteworthy cost-saving of 5.9% of state funds. This reflects a strategic effort to optimize spending while ensuring that essential food supplies are secured.

A total of 110 purchasing organizations participated in this initiative, acquiring 190 different food products from 96 contracted manufacturers and sellers. These transactions were facilitated through an electronic procurement portal, enhancing transparency and efficiency in the procurement process.

The centralized procurement of these food products is managed by Agrarian Procurement and Supply OJSC, an entity that operates under the Ministry of Agriculture. This approach not only supports local manufacturers but also aims to stabilize food supply within the country.

This comprehensive state procurement initiative underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to securing quality food products for its population while effectively managing state resources.
