Baku Initiative Group Launches Online Petition Drive
The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) has taken a significant step in seeking recognition and reparations for historical colonial oppression. Today, the organization launched a petition on its website titled “Recognize Historical Colonial Oppression and Provide Adequate Reparations.”
Abbas Abbasov, the Executive Director of BIG, made this announcement at the international conference titled Decolonization: Silent Revolution, held by the Baku Initiative Group at the UN Headquarters in New York.
During the conference, Abbasov urged all participants to sign the petition and show their support for the restoration of justice. The initiative aims to address the legacy of colonialism and its effects on communities worldwide.
