
Ban on Importing Right-Hand Drive Cars in Kyrgyzstan starting 2025

Bishkek – 24.kg news agency reported that right-hand drive cars imported into Kyrgyz Republic in 2025 will not be legalized. The Deputy Director of the State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers, Bakytbek Sheraliev, made this announcement on Birinchi Radio.
According to Sheraliev, only vehicles brought into the country before December 31, 2024 are eligible for legalization. He advised citizens not to order right-hand drive vehicles as they will not be legalized, and it will result in wasting money.
The legalization process for right-hand drive cars with foreign number plates will begin on March 1 and will be carried out in three stages until August 2025. It is important to note that the import of right-hand drive vehicles for registration, operation, and participation in road traffic within the country is prohibited by the Law “On Road Traffic in the Kyrgyz Republic.”
Citizens are urged to comply with the regulations and refrain from purchasing right-hand drive vehicles to avoid legal issues and financial losses in the future.
