Bartók Festival Launches in Brussels
The Brussels Liszt Institute launched a three-day Bartók festival in partnership with the Bartók archives in Brussels and Budapest. The festival, taking place at the Liszt Institute in Brussels, will showcase lectures and concerts featuring works either written or inspired by Béla Bartók.
One of the highlights of the festival will be Hungary’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Tamás Iván Kocsis, laying a wreath at Bartok’s statue in Brussels on Thursday, marking the anniversary of the composer’s death.
The festival aims to celebrate the legacy of Béla Bartók and promote his contributions to classical music. Attendees can expect a rich program of performances and discussions surrounding the influential composer’s work.
In other news, the culture and innovation minister emphasized the importance of joint European heritage as a source of identity and a token of the future. Speaking in Visegrad, northern Hungary, the minister highlighted the significance of preserving Christian traditions and values within European societies.
Hungary has prioritized the protection of Christianity and traditions in its laws, but the minister stressed the need for vibrant Christian communities to ensure the continued vitality of these customs.
