Under the leadership of President Ersin Tatar’s wife, Sibel Tatar, the launch of the “Rebirth of Silk in Northern Cyprus” project carried out under the auspices of the Presidency took place at the Presidency.

Speaking at the night attended by many guests, President Ersin Tatar’s wife Sibel Tatar said that the foundations of the project were laid about a year ago with the suggestion of the Turkish Cypriot Embroidery Research and Survival Association President Dervişe Çeliker, and explained the process.

Giving information about the participants who contributed to the project, Sibel Tatar thanked everyone for their efforts.

Sibel Tatar said, “We have done this project, many people have contributed. The product of Cyprus is here. I want to say this; Today, we will see that labor, believing, working and the cultural values ​​of our past history can become a product of Northern Cyprus by blending it with women’s labor and using completely natural products and methods. President Ersin Tatar thanked his wife Sibel Tatar and her team.

Pointing out the importance of protecting the cultural heritage of Turkish Cypriots from the past and carrying them to the younger generations, President Tatar said that working and producing is the essence of the job.

Tatar said, “As a center of attraction of the TRNC, with its infrastructure, all kinds of international contacts, despite the cruel games played on us, despite the obstacles and restrictions, our answer to the mentality on the other side is ‘we exist, we will exist because we produce’. By transforming our cultural basis, which is the basis of our existence in the country from the past, into production in the future, we introduce the TRNC to the whole world by carrying both our production, prosperity and national values.”

Pointing to the events in Pile, President Tatar emphasized that the only thing they can say to those who see a lot of relief for the suffering of the citizens of Pile to reach their own region with a roadwork is ‘we exist and we will continue to exist’.

President Tatar said, “We are one of two equal peoples in these lands,” and that the Turkish Cypriot people will continue to exist with their inherent sovereignty rights.

After the speeches, certificates of appreciation and plaques were presented to those who contributed to the project by President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar.

The night ended with the presentation of the products obtained from the fabrics woven by women under the name of Kozada brand with traditional weaving methods, by designer Münüse Ağagil. BRT
