President Tatar attended the award ceremony of the 1st Cyprus Conquest Cup Competition, organized under the auspices of the Happy Tomorrows Sports Association and Yunus Emre Institute, on the occasion of the 452nd anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottoman Empire.

Speaking at the event at the Happy Tomorrows Sports Association Shooting Field, Tatar emphasized that the ancestral sport archery competition was held on August 1, Social Resistance Day, and emphasized that the event is important in terms of transferring the culture from the past to future generations.

Expressing that the International Peace and Freedom Cup was held in the country on July 20, President Tatar wished that archery, an olympic sport, would develop in the country and young people would compete in international competitions.

Tatar noted that the President of the Republic of Turkey Archery Federation and Mayor of Beyoğlu Municipality, Hasan Haydar Yılmaz, contributed to the spread of archery by participating in the events held in the TRNC, allowing foreign athletes to compete with TRNC athletes.
