Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that they had a productive meeting with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Giving good news about citrus fruits, Üstel announced that 160 million will be paid to the producers next week for the oranges left on the trees during the last Valencia season.
Üstel said, “In the new period, citrus fruits will be sent to Turkey as before, and they will be sold in Turkey and reach other markets through Türkiye.”
Prime Minister Üstel evaluated his Ankara contacts to BRT.
“We discuss the issues of how we can bring the country’s economy to a better point every time we come to Ankara,” said Üstel, adding that they had a very productive meeting with the Vice President of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz. Üstel said:
“Thanks to this productive meeting, we revealed what we have done with the Vice President of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, in two years. Because we completed both the half-project and the reforms from the past in these two years. But there are some unfinished projects remaining and there are projects that our people need. We talked about how we could implement them in 2025. “We carried out their study and made a calendaring program.”
Stating that while carrying out these studies, they also addressed the problems existing in the country, Prime Minister Üstel said:
“Last year, we experienced some problems in citrus fruits and we constantly consulted with the motherland, Türkiye, to overcome those problems. In this regard, we ensured that some oranges were brought to Turkey. Since some oranges were left on the branch, we worked to make some payments to the producers so that they would not lose production. “Now, next week, we will pay 160 million of the oranges left on the tree during the last Valencia period to the producers and save those producers from being victimized.”
Prime Minister Üstel said, “We have a consensus that in the new period, citrus fruits will come to the Republic of Turkey exactly as before, and we will send them to other markets through the Republic of Turkey and ensure their sale in Turkey.”
Prime Minister Üstel stated that they also met with the Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party, Efgan Ala, as part of their contacts.
