In the written statement made by the Press Office of the Ministry of National Education, it was stated that no complaint was made to any department or unit affiliated with the ministry regarding the issue that was said to have occurred at the graduation ceremony in June at Anafartalar High School affiliated with the General Secondary Education Department.

In the statement, it was noted that following the news in the press and the Ministry being informed on August 22, the issue was brought to the agenda of the National Education Supervision Evaluation and Guidance Board and two auditors were assigned to investigate. Within the scope of the research, the school assistant head and the student were interviewed and their written statements were taken; It was stated that the school principal, the assistant principal and teachers mentioned in the letters were contacted and evaluated by obtaining verbal and/or written information about what happened.

In the statement, “In this context, a student came to the ceremony wearing a headscarf on June 22, 2023; The student attended the ceremony by wearing his cap over his bonnet, with the knowledge of the school principal and the support of the teachers; He received his diploma happily and peacefully and documented it with photographs; There was no incident that would cause a complaint between the student, teachers and/or school administration, and the student and/or his/her family did not have any complaints; Following the news, the student contacted one of the teachers mentioned in the press and left a voice message, stating that he had nothing to do with the issue and that he did not write a letter complaining about the teachers mentioned and/or in any other way; “It has been determined that the student and/or his/her parents did not write any text about the teachers and/or what happened on the night of the ceremony and/or did not complain to any institution, and that the text published in the press and brought to the notice of our Ministry was not written by the student.”

It was also stated in the statement that, as a result of the research and interrogation of the relevant people, serious findings were found regarding the said school assistant chief that were in violation of Article 85 (5) a of the Teachers Act. It was stated that no disciplinary prosecution could be initiated.
