Battle of the Titans: Strongest Men Clash in Nomad Challenge
The fifth World Nomad Games (WNG) held in Astana showcased an impressive display of strength and athleticism as athletes from around the world competed in intense challenges to prove their physical prowess.
Sixteen athletes from countries such as Armenia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Russia, and more participated in five disciplines including lifting a 100-kilogram stone, squatting with a 100-kilogram bag, throwing a javelin at a target, squatting with a 130-kilogram log, and towing a 200-kilogram trolley.
Kazakhstan’s Azamat Makulbekov emerged victorious, winning the gold medal in his first major international competition. He attributed his success to hard work and determination, preparing rigorously for the event.
Iran’s Reza Gheitasi clinched the silver medal, while Russia’s Vagapov Denis took home the bronze. Gheitasi suggested a change in competition format for future events to enhance fairness among participants.
Representatives from different countries expressed their admiration for the unique challenges presented at the Nomad Games, emphasizing the emphasis on natural strength and practicality over traditional strongman competitions.
Despite facing tough challenges during the competition, athletes like Oman’s Ahmed Alismaily remained positive about their experiences and looked forward to future opportunities in the world of strongman sports.
