Bayern Munich Makes Second Offer for Tottenham’s Harry Kane
Bayern Munich has reportedly made a second offer to acquire Tottenham forward Harry Kane. The initial offer from Munich was swiftly rejected by the British club. Two weeks ago, Bayern had put forward a bid of €70 million along with bonuses, which was also deemed insufficient. It is now uncertain whether Tottenham will accept the increased offer of 80 million euros.
The primary reason behind the potential deal falling through is Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s resistance to selling Kane. Levy is renowned as one of the toughest negotiators in football, and he has made it clear that he does not want to part ways with the English striker. According to reports from England, Tottenham would only consider offers starting from 100 million euros.
There have been claims that Bayern has already reached an agreement with Kane since the end of June. It is also reported that Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel personally visited Kane at his home in London to discuss the transfer intentions. However, Levy is furious with the German club for negotiating with their star player behind his back.
Levy views Kane as the most important player for Tottenham, particularly during the team’s current crisis. As a result, the British businessman is expected to remain highly resistant to any further offers and is even planning to extend Kane’s contract. Tottenham is striving to foil Bayern’s attempt by extending Kane’s contract, which is set to expire in 2024, and offering him a substantial salary increase.
