Turkish Ministry of National Defense Announces Successful Swarm Attack Operation
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey has made an exciting announcement regarding a groundbreaking military operation. It was revealed that for the first time in history, an attack in the swarm concept was carried out in a joint operation between the İDA-UAV. This innovative operation showcases Turkey’s commitment to advancing its defense capabilities.
The Kamikaze IDA Albatros played a crucial role in this operation. With its integrated system, the Albatros has the ability to swiftly move on water at high speeds and detonate its payload by targeting enemy assets. The successful deployment of the Albatros demonstrates its effectiveness in hitting enemy targets and causing significant damage.
During the test, eight Albatros units formed a swarm and executed an attack on a target ship. One of the Albatros Kamikaze İDA vehicles, equipped with ROKETSAN ammunition, successfully hit the target ship, causing it to sink within minutes. This achievement highlights the power and effectiveness of swarm attacks using advanced unmanned marine vehicles.
It is important to note that the Bayraktar TB2 UAV, affiliated with the Naval Forces Command, also participated in the firing test. The unmanned marine vehicles, directed by the Bayraktar TB2, demonstrated their ability to detect and engage targets alongside the Albatros swarm. This joint operation marks the first time in history that the IDA swarm kamikaze attack concept has been put into practice.
The test took place off the coast of Mersin and was closely monitored by high-ranking officials, including Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and Presidential Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün. To ensure no harm to the environment, the target ship was thoroughly cleaned of any contaminants before the test.
The ALBATROS Kamikaze İDA is an unmanned marine vehicle swarm system developed by ASELSAN. It possesses a high level of autonomy, allowing it to navigate and perform tasks independently within a swarm formation. This advanced system can adapt its formations and continue its mission despite losing elements of the swarm or encountering obstacles.
According to ASELSAN, the ALBATROS İDA has various operational capabilities, including reconnaissance, surveillance, engaging single or multiple targets, Coast Guard patrol and attack, and base/port defense. It can autonomously assign tasks among the swarm elements and terminate tasks with different maneuvers, making it a versatile tool in modern warfare.
