Bayramov: Strong Support from Azerbaijan for Northern Cypriot Brothers
Azerbaijan Stands in Solidarity with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
During the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed the country’s unwavering support for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The close, brotherly ties between the two nations were highlighted, with President Ersin Tatar of TRNC having visited Azerbaijan and the formation of friendship groups between their parliaments. TRNC’s observer status in the Organization of Turkic States was also acknowledged, with Azerbaijan pledging to continue supporting its activities.
Bayramov emphasized the importance of a fair and just solution to the Cyprus issue, recognizing the equal rights of both the Turkish and Greek communities on the island. He stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through a solution based on justice, historical facts, and international law. The Foreign Minister assured the Northern Cypriot brothers of Azerbaijan’s steadfast support in this matter.
As both nations stand in solidarity, it is evident that Azerbaijan remains committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus within the international community.
