BC Card Kyrgyzstan Introduces New Payment System

Bishkek, August 27, 2024 – A new payment system, BC Card Kyrgyzstan, has been officially launched in the country, with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, making the inaugural payment using the system.

The opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz-Korean joint company, BC Card Kyrgyzstan, was attended by Akylbek Japarov, who emphasized the significance of this event for the further advancement of the country’s financial infrastructure.

In his remarks, Japarov highlighted the collaborative efforts between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea in creating the company with the Interbank Processing Center CJSC. He emphasized that the main goal of the company is to enhance the processing of domestic payments, utilize international payment systems, and manage POS terminals and payment services within the republic.

The development of BC Card Kyrgyzstan aligns with the government’s efforts to promote non-cash payments as part of the State Program for Increasing the Share of Non-Cash Payments and Settlements in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027.

Japarov stated, “The shift towards non-cash payments is not just a modernization of our economy, but also a step towards strengthening financial security and increasing financial inclusion. We aim to make the payment process so seamless and user-friendly that even cash-reliant individuals are compelled to transition to new technologies.”

He concluded by expressing his best wishes for the success and prosperity of the company, underscoring the importance of embracing digital payment solutions for the economic growth and stability of Kyrgyzstan.
